One of the downsides of trading under a company name is the amount of cold callers phoning you!
I just had my 3rd one today, this is how it went….
(Ring Ring)
Me: Hello, Giantpea
Caller: Hello, can I speak to your MD?
Me: Sure, hold the line please
(on hold for about 10sec)
Me: Hi, just trying the line now
Caller: Thanks
(on hold for about 5secs)
Me: Sales department, how can I help?
Caller: Oh? Hi, someone was putting me through to the Managing Director!
Me: The MD? Ok, hold the line please
(On hold again for 10sec)
Me: Hello MD’s office, how can I help?
Caller: Err!! Hello (now a little confused by the similarity in voice)
Me: MD’s office, how can I help?
Caller: Err! (short pause) Sorry, can I speak to the MD?
Me: One moment
(10sec hold)
Me: Hello the MD speaking, how can I help?
Caller: (Hangs up)
